The 2013 NSW STATE HOG RALLY rolls onto the Coffs Coast between 18th & 20th October.
With a HUGE event planned at the Coffs Harbour Showground over the number of days and nights.
The event is for members of the HOG (Harley Owners Group), Harley-Davidson established the Harley Owners Group in 1983 to reinforce the strong loyalty amongst its family of Harley-Davidson motorcycle riders. Currently, there are more than 1,400 official H.O.G.® chapters around the world. Each chapter sponsored by an authorised Harley-Davidson® dealership. The Mid North Coast Chapter sponsoring dealer is North Coast V-Twins (v-twins.com.au) has an extensive territory that covers from Taree to the QLD border located in Coffs Harbour.
Local chapters allow a very diverse bunch of people who share a passion for Harley-Davidson® motorcycles to come together and enjoy entertainment, activities and the freedom of riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. When joining a local chapter, you’ll always have plenty of opportunities to meet with friends, have fun, support worthy causes, and ride!
The 2013 NSW STATE HOG RALLY is an open invitation for HOG members worldwide to make their way to a specific destination and celebrate and enjoy the company of like-minded enthusiasts.
The Mid North Coast Chapter encompassing a very large region spanning from Grafton in the North to Gloucester in the South was chosen to host the STATE RALLY and Coffs Harbour was appointed as the destination.
The Rally committee have been working tirelessly to promote and prepare the event for the influx of visitors from as far as North America, Canada, Singapore, New Caledonia, New Zealand and all states of Australia.
2013 is a very auspicious year it happens to be the 110th Anniversary of the Harley-Davidson marque, the 30th Anniversary of HOG Inc, and the Mid North Coast chapters own 20th Anniversary year.
The city of Coffs Harbour will rumble to the sound of these awe inspiring machines for days prior to and post event as the many whom have travelled from near and far take the opportunity to explore the region, its eclectic villages, diversity and culinary delights.
SUNDAY 20th October adjacent to the Harbourside Markets
Will see a spectacular congregation of possibly up to a thousand HOG members and their prized possessions on the parkside where they will meet to take part in a “THUNDER RUN”.
The “THUNDER RUN” will depart in an orderly manner from the Jetty Precinct along Harbour Drive to the Hogbin Drive Roundabout where they will rumble their way through the village of Sawtell onto Raleigh returning to the Coffs Harbour Showground.
It is advised and welcomed to get down early (by 9am) to the Harbourside Markets at the Jetty Foreshores to view the plethora of models and custom machines, talk to the friendly and engaging enthusiasts and ensure that they see the very best community spirit, happy faces and gratitude the Coffs Coast extends for their visit. As with all events that drive visitation to the city, the best experience they can have will influence their decision to return with friends, colleagues, family and like-minded enthusiasts / groups.
Tourism is a massive economic driver for our region and we need to embrace such activities / events to ensure the participants and organisers feel welcome and see the best side of our community.
Tell your friends and family to line the streets, wave, cheer and take photos of this spectacular event with the “Thunder Run” departing the Jetty at 10am.
The Mid North Coast HOG Chapter supports the vital Northern Region – Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Service in many fundraising activities and this is no different. It is planned to have our region’s Eurocopter Dauphin AS365 N2 based in Lismore be onsite at the Jetty Precinct on the morning of the “Thunder Run” albeit there are no missions tasked prior to the start of the run.
What an exciting event….. don’t miss it!
