San Diego Annual H-D® Dealer Meeting with Stu

2 years ago | by

Last week we sent our head Harley-Davidson technician, Stu, to San Diego to attend Harley-Davidson’s Annual Dealer Meeting. This is where the entire world wide H-D dealer network meet and the release of all the exciting new MY19 motorcycles and products happens. For those who haven’t already heard the word on the street;

  • The new FXDR™ 114 leverages the full potential of both the dynamic Softail platform and the Milwaukee-Eight engine. Don’t miss an opportunity to offer test rides to sell the full potential of this powerful machine.
  • Touring remains the bedrock of H-D and we’re offering those riders more than ever with standard Milwaukee-Eight 114 performance on select models and the all-new Boom! Box GTS infotainment system.
  • H-D have made significant improvements to the Trike platform and our CVO models continue to turn heads with their performance, style and amazing custom detail.
  • And, again this year, our General Merchandise and Parts and Accessories teams have combined style and technology to create some exciting new products for you to deliver the full Harley-Davidson experience.T

This years ADM is one for the history books as H-D enter into new spaces with bold new products. Both the Pan America™ and the new streetfighter previewed at this meeting will arrive in 2020. And, with the launch of LiveWire next year we will be making a Harley-Davidson footprint as the leader in electric motorcycles.

It is an exciting time to be part of Harley-Davidson!

Stu’s Story

The Annual Harley Dealer meeting in sunny San Diego opened bright and early on Tuesday at 8am with a glittering one-hour presentation to a packed house – thousands of excited dealers from all over the world, eager be the first to see what’s new for 2019; myself included. It was also a celebration of the past 115 years and a look into the present and future of the motor company.

Big news is the awesome new FXDR and none of us were disappointed with its muscular stance and a chassis tuned for the twisty stuff. We were treated to a line up of the Pan America, Streetfighter and future Custom not to mention the Livewire which looks so radical in the flesh. This bike will hit the streets of the US around August 2019 and hopefully we here in Aus won’t have to wait too much longer for a ride into the future!

The new product expo followed on and a chance to get up close to everything new for 2019. Bikes, P&A, General Merchandise and all of the Screamin Eagle kit was on display. There was even a fashion show running throughout the whole day showing off all the new moto clothes and cool new collections like 1903 and Garage.

The exhibit hall was huge and the Motor Company totally dominated the space and filled every square inch! Every model displayed perfectly with plenty of space to hop on and off to get a feel for them. Multiple colour options of each bike were present along with custom paint variations, not to mention most of them tricked up with accessories, bars, Screamin Eagle parts and plenty of bling! Everything dazzled under the bright lights and it was AWESOME!!
